On Monday, April 21, 2008, CHWC hosted 250 guests at its second annual fundraising luncheon. Held at the Reardon Convention Center, guests heard about the revitalization and stabilization efforts being undertaken by CHWC in the urban core neighborhoods of Kansas City. Mayor Reardon and Congressman Dennis Moore joined guests to hear the key note presentation by Kevin Helliker, the Chicago Bureau Chief of The Wall Street Journal. Mr. Helliker is a native of Kansas City, Kansas graduating from Bishop Ward High School and the University of Kansas, School of Journalism. Mr. Helliker shared his thoughts and observations of his home town.
