CHWC broke ground on the Village of Fountains, a senior living campus in the heart of Kansas City, Kansas on Wednesday, March 26, 2008.

Local dignitaries and residents gathered at the site for the groundbreaking ceremony. Waving on the bulldozers were Senator Sam Brownback, Mayor Joe Reardon, Commissioner Bill Miller, President and CEO of Providence Health, Mike Dorsey, and many more.

The $8 million campus will be the first of its kind in KCK and will include a 59 unit assisted living facility and 20 independent living units for low-to-moderate income seniors. Featuring a park like setting with walking trails and fountains, Phase I of this development should be completed by spring 2009.

CHWC is developing this senior campus in partnership with the Community Investment Housing Group, a development arm of The Housing Authority of Kansas City, Kansas. For information regarding residential services for Village of Fountains please contact Melinda Linnell at (913) 279-3440.

Straub Construction is the general contractor for the development and the Hill Firm is the architect.
