Neighborhood Ambassador Program
The Neighborhood Ambassador Program is a new program offered by CHWC to strengthen the relationship with the neighborhood and residents it serves. The program provides funds to CHWC’s primary neighborhoods to support neighborhood activities and resident engagement. The neighborhoods that can participate in the program are: St. Peter/Waterway, St. Benedict/St. Joseph/ Prescott, Riverview, Strawberry Hill, Chelsea, and Bethany. The program is simple – each group elects an “Ambassador” who attends regular meetings with CHWC providing updates on activities. CHWC provides each neighborhood with a stipend of $250 per month for the months of May, June, July, and August to host neighborhood wide activities such as block parties, neighborhood clean up activities or membership drives. To receive the funds, each Ambassador provides a detailed report on activities together with receipts to CHWC.
CHWC understands the importance of a neighborhood made up of dedicated and engaged residents. To successfully stabilize and sustain neighborhoods, the partnership between the residents and CHWC is paramount. By meeting regularly with the Ambassadors, CHWC provides information of upcoming projects, learns from the neighborhoods what is working and what is not, and most importantly helps identify neighborhood needs. |
